A DIFFERENT ENDING BY MARKO JAUREGUI

Where the story takes a different turn:    

We are in Damian’s room at the moment when Glass Eye enters. He is about to threaten Damian to give him the money and then escape. But instead of that, this happens…

   

Glass Eye entered Damian’s room while he was looking out the window. He was about to speak when Dad came through the door. Dad saw Glass Eye, and with a nervous look on his face, he quickly took a look around the room.  Against a wall, he saw Damian’s baseball bat.  He grabbed it and swiftly hit Glass Eye on the face, very hard.  Glass Eye was knocked out.

“What the hell is happening and who was that guy?!” asked Dad.

“I don’t know, but I’m sure he wanted the money,” answered Damian.

“What money?” asked Dad.

“A few days ago I found 229.000 pounds in my hermitage when I told God that Mom is dead…” said Damian nervously.

“229.000 pounds! Oh my God! Why didn’t you tell me before?” asked Dad.

“Because Anthony told me that 40% of the money would have to be paid as taxes. So we didn’t want to tell you because the government would find out,” answered Damian.

“Don’t worry, there would still be a lot left. Now, we have to worry about this man, and then we’ll think about the money,” said Dad.

            So Dad called the police and they took Glass Eye away.  Then, he told Dorothy all about the money.  They talked about what the best thing to do would be.

Finally, they decided that they would have to give back the money to the government because it wasn’t honest to use money that wasn’t theirs.

So they returned the money. Damian and his brother realised that they did not need so much money to be happy.  And things got even better when Dad and Dorothy got married a short time after.  Life was not the same as before.  It was better.
